Abstract
Report of a commissioned study on setting up a drought monitoring, forecasting, and early warning system for the Eastern Nile Basin. The methodology consisted of a historic reconstruction of climate and hydrology, and development of climate and hydrological forecasts, while results covered historic hydrology evaluations (stream flow and soil moisture), drought analysis (variability, risk and exposure), evaluation of climate forecasts, evaluation of hydrology forecasts (online dashboard), conclusion and recommendations.
