The Baro-Akobo-Sobat River sub-basin is the least developed of the four sub-basins of the Eastern Nile. At the same time, it is recognized that the sub-basin presents a huge potential for development. Given its transboundary nature and the relatively pristine state of much of the basin, there is both a need and an opportunity for cooperative transboundary planning, development and management of the sub-basin’s resources.
