Pilot study to assess the performance of Rahad Irrigation Scheme using range of formal and informal indicators, and to compare the scheme's overall performance rating with that attributed to efficient water use for agricultural production of a large-scale irrigation scheme. It also includes a costed Action Plan for remedial works, an evaluation of expected benefits, and a cost benefit analysis. Along with a similar study of three small-scale irrigation schemes in three regions of Ethiopia, these studies aim to help in alleviating the existing crucial water shortage in the EN sub-basin and in adapting to the adverse effects of climate change.
